During the winter season, access to the property requires transportation by ski lift or snow vehicle. Check-in is therefore available between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
(Guests will be taken to their cabin by lift until 4:30 PM, and by snowmobile or snow vehicle thereafter.)

Minakami Hodai-gi Campground is a camping site known for its vast grasslands, which appear during the green season at Hodai-gi—a resort that bustles with skiers in winter. Surrounded by endless skies and mountain ranges amidst the cool, crisp air at an altitude of over 1,000 meters, the time spent here offers an overwhelming sense of openness that cannot be found in the city. During the day, you can run around the grasslands, play in the river, collect insects, and enjoy all sorts of active pursuits to your heart’s content. Because this high-altitude area is far from populated areas, the night sky is filled with a dazzling display of stars.
An Experience of Staying on the Slopes
Earthboat Minakami Hodaigi is located within the ski resort. During the green season, you can drive directly to Earthboat and park right next to the guesthouse. We will email you your room number on the day of your stay, so please check it and proceed to your room.

Equipped with a queen-sized bed to soothe your tired body after a day of skiing. From the distinctive windows, you can relax while enjoying views of the ski slopes and surrounding mountains.
All Rooms Feature a Private Sauna
Each Earthboat cabin, offered as a private rental, comes equipped with its own private sauna. The wood-fired sauna, heated by adding logs yourself, offers an authentic Finnish sauna experience—complete with löyly that you can enjoy as much as you like.
Enjoy Mount Tanigawa in all four seasons
The Tanigawa Mountain Range, visible from Earthboat, is just a 30-minute drive away. The Tanigawa Ropeway operates year-round. During the green season, you’ll be greeted by colorful flowers and lush greenery. You can enjoy hiking and trekking, and in winter, snowshoeing. After a day in the mountains, there’s something special about gazing at Mount Tanigawa from Earthboat while enjoying the fresh air.

During the winter season, guests will access the Earthboat area via the ski resort lift. If you are bringing luggage larger than 60 cm × 60 cm, please select this option. Our staff will transport it to your cabin by snowmobile. Please note: Since luggage will be moved over snow, we strongly recommend avoiding standard suitcases.
